🎼 Vintage Bodices from “Partita” – A Founders’ Ballet Inspired by Baroque Dance Suites
Take home a rare piece of San Jose Dance Theatre’s early repertoire! These one-of-a-kind bodices were worn in Partita, an original ballet choreographed by our founders. Drawing inspiration from the partita—a Baroque musical form closely related to dance suites—this ballet combined classical structure with expressive choreography. True to its name, Partita opened with a prelude and followed the elegant flow of Baroque movement, making these costumes a reflection of both music and dance history.
Each bodice features handcrafted construction with intricate lace detailing in vivid hues of teal, red, and purple, accented by cream bows. These vintage pieces embody the artistry and vision of SJDT’s founding era and are ideal for collectors, costume historians, or lovers of ballet heritage. All proceeds support the preservation of San Jose Dance Theatre’s legacy and the creation of future works for the next generation of artists.
